The super-smooth finish and extra supple coating makes the Cortland 444 ideal for the cooler conditions found in the UK.

However the original design was to give the most delicate presentation when fishing the rivers of North America so the original head lengths were not so well suited to casting longer distances, especially when Stillwater fishing.

The XP has been designed with that in mind and offers a longer 10' front taper together with a longer, 29' body and an overall length of 105'
